Date: Nov. 2007

From Direct Sound, the makers of EXTREME ISOLATION headphones, comes a brand new, much improved version of the model EX-29, an industry leader in isolation headphone technology,

How is it possible to improve them? The EX-29 is now identified with distinctive gold lettering to give the headphones the world class look they deserve.

The improvements are not just cosmetic. The most important improvement is the new specially designed 500 mW ultra-fidelity speaker drivers. Not only can they handle additional power, but the fidelity is superb. The model EX-29 is now suggested for critical mixing by many pros in the music industry.

In addition to the new drivers, a repairable 1/8” input jack with a new screw-on type 1/4” jack adapter is now standard

What‘s new? Two additional passive sound attenuating headphones are a welcome addition to the family, the EX-25 and the HP-25. The model EX-25 attenuates an average of 25 dB, 4 dB less than the model EX-29. The ear cups feature handsome silver lettering. The speaker drivers in the model EX-25 can also handle 500 mW of input power and incorporate the repairable 1/8” jack with a new screw-on type 1/4” jack adapter.

The model HP-25 is a speakerless model requested by many of our customers and clients. The ear cups feature distinctive white lettering. They are ideal hearing protection for practicing music and other excessively loud events requiring safety from hearing damage.

SM Pro Audio Release iNano

A compact pure passive volume control to help get the best from any system!

Let’s get small - the iNano is a super compact desktop sized passive volume attenuator. Building on the success of the original SM Pro Audio Nano Patch, the iNano has been designed for use with a variety of consumer based systems. It enters the market as one of the smallest passive problem solvers on the market.

A great way to passively attenuate stereo signals from computers, soundcards, CD players, pre-amps, and mixers, the iNano allows precise level adjustment to analog audio source material. Featuring balanced combo XLR/TRS and 3.5mm input jacks and TRS and 3.5mm outputs, mute switch, and a good sized rotary volume encoder, the iNano is simply one of the most affordable improvements you could ever make to your desktop studio.

The iNano passive series does not have any active elements, thereby allowing audio signals to be attenuated and mixed together transparently and without coloration.

The iNano really comes into its own when connected between your computer audio interface/soundcard master outputs and a pair of active (powered) monitor speakers. One of the benefits of passive volume attenuation is that you no longer have to control volumes with your software‘s master volume fader. Reducing levels from your software only reduces the audio bit depth. It is much more appropriate to keep your software masters at unity and attenuate the audio to your active monitors with a passive controller like the iNano. This way you can maintain maximum audio resolution and attenuate your monitoring volume with the confidence that the sonic integrity of your audio is not compromised.

No active circuitry, buffers, transistors, batteries, or power supply of any kind can interfere with the main passive output of the iNano. It simply delivers attenuated signal. Pure, simple, transparent.

The iNano is set for release at a list price of USD $69.00

More information on the iNano including high resolution images, technical details, and operational manuals can be found at the SM Pro Audio website here: http://www.smproaudio.com

TrueFire Presents 335 BLUES: Larry Carlton Master Class

New Interactive Video Course features 80 video lessons featuring Larry Carlton‘s signature

insights for blues guitar improvisation, technique and tone

St Petersburg, FL (November 7, 2007) - TrueFire, the leading interactive video software publisher of educational content

for musicians, announces 335 BLUES, a Master Class with legendary guitarist Larry Carlton.

With over 3,000 sessions, 200 hit records and 100 gold albums to his credit, sixteen-time Grammy nominee and three-time

Grammy winner Larry Carlton is perhaps the most versatile and accomplished guitarist walking the planet today. TrueFire founder,

Brad Wendkos says, “Larry possesses an extraordinary ability to brilliantly communicate both the art and science of blues guitar.”

335 BLUES, Larry‘s first course in twenty years, imparts Carlton‘s philosophical, technical and musical approach in a genre rich

with expression and improvisation - the blues. Larry presents 335 BLUES in three main sections. First up is a series of blues

grooves in a variety of feels, keys and tempos. For each groove, Carlton demonstrates three choruses worth of comping and three

choruses of improvisational soloing followed by an explanation of what he played and why he played it. Viewers then use the video,

charts, tab, notation and practice rhythm tracks to make the material their own.

Carlton then drills down on essential techniques and improvisational approaches in the next section. Bending and vibrato are

demonstrated and broken down in unprecedented detail. Use of motifs, space and phrasing are likewise presented in an amazing,

ear-opening fashion. Other gems of insight in this section include use of the melodic minor in blues, “knuckle voicings” and

recommendations for how to approach both practice and playing.

The third section covers a wide variety of topics ranging from the technical to the philosophical. Tone and how to go about

tweaking equipment to achieve it, is presented comprehensively. Insight on recording, jamming and performing with other

musicians is likewise addressed. A few anecdotes and even a little show and tell on the Steely Dan studio rig make this section

likely to be watched over and over again.

“If you love electric blues guitar, then 335 BLUES may be a dream come true for you,” says Jude Gold, Educational Editor of

Guitar Player Magazine.

Larry Carlton’s 335 BLUES is optimized for solid intermediate to advanced players and is presented across 4 interactive video CD-

ROMs (Windows and Mac compatible), features 80 full-length video lessons, text overviews, practice rhythm tracks, standard

notation and interactive Power Tab so you can “see” and “hear” the tab and notation played out at any tempo. TrueFire’s video

lesson player features zoom, frame advance, looping and other handy controls.
