A compact pure passive volume control to help get the best from any system!
Let’s get small - the iNano is a super compact desktop sized passive volume attenuator. Building on the success of the original SM Pro Audio Nano Patch, the iNano has been designed for use with a variety of consumer based systems. It enters the market as one of the smallest passive problem solvers on the market.
A great way to passively attenuate stereo signals from computers, soundcards, CD players, pre-amps, and mixers, the iNano allows precise level adjustment to analog audio source material. Featuring balanced combo XLR/TRS and 3.5mm input jacks and TRS and 3.5mm outputs, mute switch, and a good sized rotary volume encoder, the iNano is simply one of the most affordable improvements you could ever make to your desktop studio.
The iNano passive series does not have any active elements, thereby allowing audio signals to be attenuated and mixed together transparently and without coloration.
The iNano really comes into its own when connected between your computer audio interface/soundcard master outputs and a pair of active (powered) monitor speakers. One of the benefits of passive volume attenuation is that you no longer have to control volumes with your software‘s master volume fader. Reducing levels from your software only reduces the audio bit depth. It is much more appropriate to keep your software masters at unity and attenuate the audio to your active monitors with a passive controller like the iNano. This way you can maintain maximum audio resolution and attenuate your monitoring volume with the confidence that the sonic integrity of your audio is not compromised.
No active circuitry, buffers, transistors, batteries, or power supply of any kind can interfere with the main passive output of the iNano. It simply delivers attenuated signal. Pure, simple, transparent.
The iNano is set for release at a list price of USD $69.00
More information on the iNano including high resolution images, technical details, and operational manuals can be found at the SM Pro Audio website here: http://www.smproaudio.com

Rugged grills designed to protect reference monitor woofer and tweeters while maintaining excellent sonic performance
Hollywood, Fla. - (November 6, 2007) - KRK Systems is proud to announce the release of rugged protection grills for VXT4 and VXT6 reference monitors. The attractive, yet rugged metal grills are designed to protect KRK Systems‘ VXT Series monitor woofers and tweeters while preserving the monitors world-class sonic performance. This is achieved through design elements like the use of rubber gaskets and mounting spacers which eliminate vibration transfers. VXT protection grills are another example of how KRK Systems provides the best solutions in audio monitoring.
KRK Systems‘ rugged protection grills will enable KRK users to utilize their monitors in a variety of different monitoring applications with the confidence to know their monitors are protected. “We listened to the feedback of our customers in the mobile and broadcast production industries; they loved the sonic performance of the VXTs, but they were concerned that the rigors of their professions would damage the sensitive components of the monitors,” explains Mike Newman, KRK‘s director of product management. “Also project studio owners with pets or small children will benefit from using these attractive grills. Our engineers designed these grills to be rugged enough to protect the woofers and tweeters, while taking measures to maintain optimum sonic accuracy.”
The new VXT Protection Grills will be in stores in November and have the following list prices (grills are sold in pairs): VXT6: $64.99, VXT4: $39.99.

About KRK Systems
A member of the Stanton Group of companies, KRK Systems is a leader in studio monitors for the professional audio market. KRK Systems was founded in 1986, by Keith Klawitter. He had been an engineer for years working on such films as “Brainstorm” and “The Doors”. Frustrated by the fact he couldn’t find a monitor that gave him clarity and accuracy, he began building his own monitors. Other engineers and producers began to take notice of Keith’s high-end studio monitors, a groundswell began and a company was born. They also began commissioning him to build custom main systems as well. We attribute this remarkable beginning to Keith’s affinity for electronics, his passion for music, and his originality and insight.
KRK products are distributed throughout the world via a network of distributors and dealers in more than 75 countries. For additional information on all KRK Systems products, please visit us online at www.krksys.com.
